INBT Seminar Series Presents Nir Gov, PhD
March 16 @ 3:00 pm - 4:00 pm
INBT presents Nir Gov, PhD from the Weizmann Institute of Science and his talk on "Modeling Collective Cell Migration: clusters and Monolayers"
Location: Malone Hall, Room 107
Collective cell migration is an important fundamental phenomenon for development, wound-healing, and cancer. It has attracted physicists’ attention because it combines biology with physical forces to produce motion. This talk discusses theoretical modeling for various aspects of collective cell motility.
Nir Gov is an associate professor in the Department of Chemical Physics at the Weizmann Institute of Science in Rehovot, Israel. He has a BA in physics from Tel-Aviv University and an MS and PhD in physics from the Israel Institute of Technology. He completed his postdoc work in their Department of Materials and Interfaces at the Weizmann Institute, as well as in the Department of Physics at University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign.
